Mindfulness Coaching in the classroom or in your home.

Objective: To teach different techniques of awareness of our emotions through breathing exercises, meditation practice and other physical and mental awareness that our mind and body produce throughout our daily interactions.

 The purpose of teaching mindfulness to children is to give them skills to develop their awareness of their inner and outer experiences, to recognize their thoughts as “just thoughts,” to understand how emotions manifest in their bodies, to recognize when their attention has wandered, and to provide tools for impulse control. 

Mindfulness practice can be a way to help your child pay more attention to the present moment and be more in touch with how their body feels and the senses they experience. It helps them to understand both their own feelings and other people’s feelings. Mindfulness practice gives them additional skills to promote self-regulation and to manage stress and be more compassionate.

Throughout the 6-8 weeks, I will work closely with the teachers, students or you at home in creating a guided practice of mindfulness in the classroom or at home and how we can integrate it in our daily lives. By meeting once a week with each classroom, I will help introduce new exercises for both students and teachers, practice the exercises and then help them learn through independent practice, providing new materials for each session
